In the 2026/27 season we will celebrate La Intrusa’s 30th anniversary. Everything has been difficult and joyful for us, always with conquest as our motto. We have met extraordinary and wretched characters, teachers and fellow travellers. We have learned from all of it, and now, in the aftermath, it is as if an unbridled, exuberant lucidity were pouring out of us effortlessly. A lucidity shaped like delirium, which, with its comic drunkenness, reveals the true substance of the triumph and failure of the expectations we all dream of.

Crowned by this new freedom and driven by the urge to transcend ourselves, we create this anthem that does not stem from hope, but from impulse. This Anthem Will Carry the Word Euphoria is a stage territory created and performed by seven artists, in which the physical, the emotional and the symbolic unfold through a score. This anthem seeks to honour the vital impulse, to invoke a collective way of holding on, and to do it together. Because an anthem is never sung alone. This anthem is not a song — it is a mechanism of resistance.

La Intrusa

La Intrusa is a contemporary creation company founded in 1996 by Virginia García and Damián Muñoz, who lead its artistic direction. Its work moves between dance, theatre and audiovisual languages and combines its own productions, choreographic commissions and collaborations with other artists. Over thirty years its creations have been presented in more than thirty countries, and the company has also developed extensive educational activity.

In 2015 it received the Premio Nacional de Danza in the Creation category for its research into physicality, its stage poetics and its ability to incorporate other languages into contemporary dance.

La Intrusa celebrates its 30th anniversary with this creation. The company received the Premio Nacional de Danza in the Creation category in 2015 and has presented its work in more than thirty countries. Este himno llevará la palabra euforia is part of its 2026/27 programme and is touring venues such as Escenas do Cambio, Danza Gijón and Dantzaldia at Azkuna Zentroa, as well as other stages across the Basque Country.
