Through visual theatre, objects, projections, movement and various stage mechanisms, On\u00edrica Mec\u00e1nica builds a territory where the real and the imagined blur together.<\/p>\n

The piece captures the drive that runs through Verne’s novels \u2014 to travel, to discover, to invent \u2014 and brings it into the present, championing imagination in the face of narratives about the future too often dominated by pessimism. A wordless performance that trusts in imagery and in the audience’s ability to complete what unfolds on stage.<\/p>\n

Verne<\/em> was part of Teatralia 2026, with performances at Teatros del Canal, and was later programmed by the Centro Dram\u00e1tico Nacional at the Teatro Valle-Incl\u00e1n, where performances sold out. On\u00edrica Mec\u00e1nica is a company from the Region of Murcia directed by Jes\u00fas Nieto. For two decades it has worked at the intersection of visual theatre, objects, installation, technology and visual art. Its productions build stage worlds in which memory, imagination and our relationship with technology recur as central themes.<\/p>\n

The company has paid particular attention to child, youth and family audiences, seeking a language that does not simplify the theatrical experience and that allows for different levels of reading.
